Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar
Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to a houseboat. In the evening, enjoy a 30-minute Shikara ride on the lake. Dinner and overnight stay will be on the houseboat.
Day 2: Srinagar – Sonamarg – Kargil (250km/7hrs)
Depart from Srinagar for Sonamarg, a beautiful facet of the Kashmir countryside in the Sindh Valley. Drive to Kargil, passing through panoramic villages and the challenging Zojila pass (3527m), the gateway to Ladakh. Continue towards Drass, the second coldest inhabited place in the world. Arrive at Kargil (2710m) after a two and a half hour drive. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 3: Kargil – Leh (150km/7hrs)
After an early breakfast, visit the monasteries of Mulbekh & Lamayuru en route, passing through Namkila & Fatula Passes, the highest pass on the Srinagar-Leh road. Proceed to Leh, visiting the 1000-year-old Alchi monastery, the only Gompa in the Ladakh region on flat ground. Visit the Likir Monastery to see the splendid three-story Dharma Wheel Gompa and the massive Buddha statues. Drive along the Indus river, visiting Pathar Sahib Gurdwara and Magnetic Hill, and proceed to the Leh Hall of Fame (which houses Kargil War memorabilia). Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 4: Tour of Hemis, Thiksey, Shey Monastery, 3 Idiots School Campus, Sindhu Darshan
After breakfast, drive to Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. Visit Thiksey Monastery, known for its gigantic seated statue of Maitreya and its assembly hall housing hundreds of rectangular prayer books. Continue to Shey Palace, the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh, and visit the 3 Idiots School Campus and Sindhu Darshan. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 5: Leh – Nubra Valley (130km/5hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla, the highest motorable road in the world (18,380 ft). Arrive at Hundur by afternoon and spend the rest of the day exploring Deskit, Hunder Villages, and enjoying a camel safari in the sand dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village. Overnight stay at a camp.
Day 6: Nubra Valley – Leh (130km/5hrs)
After breakfast, visit Deskit Monastery and drive back to Leh via Khardungla Pass. Reach Leh by afternoon and spend the evening exploring Leh market. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 7: Leh – Pangong Lake (155km/6hrs)
After an early breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft) via Changla Pass (17,350 ft), the third highest motorable road in the world. Arrive at Pangong Lake, the highest saltwater lake in the world, shared by India and China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake on the banks of Pangong Lake while appreciating the changing colors and fascinating high altitude of the lake. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 8: Pangong – Leh (155km/6hrs)
After breakfast, visit the lake at sunrise, drive back to Leh. In the late afternoon, visit Leh Palace & Shanti Stupa, and later in the evening, walk around the local market. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 9: Depart Leh
In the morning, you’ll be transferred to the airport to board the flight for your onward destination.

The best time to visit Kashmir is during the months of March to October. For Ladakh, the ideal time is from May to September when the roads are clear of snow.
