Day 1: Arrival in Leh
Arrive at Leh Kushok Bakula Airport, one of the most scenic flights globally. On a clear day, you can see the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum, and the Nun Kun massif from the aircraft. Upon arrival, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day resting and acclimatizing to the high altitude. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Leh.
Day 2: Excursion to Indus & Sham Valley Region
After breakfast, visit the Sham Valley. Start with the Hall Of Fame, a museum constructed by the Indian Army. Proceed to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, nestled deep in the Himalayas. Visit the Magnetic Hill, which defies gravity, and the Sangam, the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. Visit Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa for a panoramic view of Leh city and the snow-capped mountains. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, the world’s highest motorable road. Nubra Valley, known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers, is situated between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Check into your camp or hotel in Hunder for an overnight stay. In the evening, explore the local villages and possibly visit a Ladakhi home.
Day 4: Nubra-Turtuk-Nubra
After breakfast, visit Turtuk, the last village on the Indian side of the border. Return to Nubra for an overnight stay in a camp or hotel.
Day 5: Nubra to Pangong Lake
After breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake, the world’s highest saltwater lake, shared by India and China. Enroute, visit the Shyok River and Durbuk Village. Enjoy the beauty of the lake and stay overnight at a camp or cottage by the lake.
Day 6: Pangong to Leh
After breakfast, drive around Pangong Lake. Then, drive to Leh via the Changla Pass, the third highest motorable road in the world. Spend the afternoon at leisure in Leh, perhaps exploring the local markets. Stay overnight at a hotel in Leh.
Day 7: Leh Monastery Excursion
After breakfast, visit the Indus Valley Monastery. Start with Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Visit Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace, 3 Idiots Rancho School, and Sindhu Ghat. Return to Leh for an evening at leisure. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 8: Departure from Leh
Bid farewell to your Lake and Pass Ladakh tour as you are transferred to Leh Airport for your onward journey.
