Embark on a 7-day journey through the scenic landscapes of Guwahati, Bhalukpong, Dirang, Tawang, and Bomdila. Start with a transfer from Guwahati to Bhalukpong, followed by a visit to Dirang, where you’ll explore Asia’s second-largest Orchidarium at Tipi. Continue to Tawang, stopping at Sella Pass, and visit the historic Tawang Monastery and War Memorial. After a leisurely day in Tawang, drive to Bomdila for some sightseeing, before returning to Guwahati. Conclude your trip with an early morning visit to the Kamakhya Temple and a transfer to Guwahati Railway Station.
Day 1: Guwahati to Bhalukpong (Approx. 230 km/5-6 hrs)
Upon arrival in Guwahati, you will be transferred to Bhalukpong for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Bhalukpong to Dirang (Approx. 135 km/5 hrs)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Dirang. En route, visit Tipi’s Orchidarium, Asia’s second-largest, housing about 7500 orchids from around 300 species. Upon arrival in Bomdila, check into your hotel. If time allows, visit the Bomdila Monastery.
Day 3: Dirang to Tawang (Approx. 165 km/6 hrs)
Post breakfast, drive to Tawang, stopping at Sella Pass (13,700 ft) to take in the scenery. Upon arrival in Tawang, check into your hotel. If time permits, explore the local market. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 4: Tawang
After breakfast, visit the 400-year-old Tawang Monastery, the world’s second-largest after Tibet’s Potala Palace. The monastery houses valuable antiquities, books, and manuscripts. Later, visit the Tawang War Memorial, a 40-foot high stupa-style monument dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Spend the rest of the day exploring the town at your leisure. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 5: Tawang to Bomdila (Approx. 187 km/7 hrs)
After a relaxed breakfast, drive to Bomdila and check into your hotel. Spend the afternoon sightseeing in and around Bomdila. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day 6: Bomdila to Guwahati (Approx. 7 hrs)
After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Departure
Start the day with an early morning visit to the Kamakhya Temple. Later, you will be transferred to the Guwahati Railway Station for your onward journey.
